H-E-B Celebrity Cook Off

University High School Bowden Awards

 

 

 

Five University teachers were honored for being outstanding mentors to University High students. Each year staff is secretly nominated for the distinguished award and winners receive a $3,000 check. Funds were graciously provided from The Bowden family, who wanted to recognize outsanding service to children, in 2009.



For Students
The merit-based $10,000 Dorothy Crippen Hurd Scholarship is awarded each Spring to Waco High seniors.

For Teachers
Annual grants up to $7,500 EACH are offered to teachers for creative educational programs and projects. Applications are available each January. Since 1999, the Foundation has awarded more than a half million in grants to WISD.
