Garage Bands at Tennyson Middle School

ATLAS students explore the boundaries of their creativity with help from a Waco ISD Education Foundation Grant.  Grant writer, MaryAnn Middlebrooks received $6,397 in order to bring technology and sweet music into her classroom this year.  The results have been tremendous.

Ten iPads were purchased and the "Garage Band" app was loaded for TMS Atlas Academy students to use during a six-week mini course.  Students use the technology to create music mixes of their creation and to lay tracks of music for remix. They also utilize the iPads in the classroom to present concepts learned to the class by utilizing such apps as “Educreations“, an app allowing them to narrate and annotate their thinking. Students record notations and drawings while narrating simultaneously. Another app that the students can use with the iPads is the “Whiteboard Lite” where the students can collaborate with other students across the room by sharing their work.

As you can see the possibilities in the classroom our endless all thanks to your generous support of the Waco ISD Education Foundation.
