About the WISD Education Foundation

The Waco ISD Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 corporation organized to raise money, make decisions and fund grants for the improvement of public education in Waco.

The Foundation is the umbrella organization over the Waco Public Schools Alumni Association, honors Waco's Distinguished Alumni, and administers the prestigious Hurd Scholarship.

The Foundation is staffed by the Waco ISD Development and Community Partnerships Department. The Development Department also oversees the Partners in Education / Adopt-a-School Program and grant facilitation for the District. The staff includes:

GRANT HIGHLIGHTS


The Rapoport Foundation has contributed a $4,500 matching grant to the Foundation for several years. The annual grant $9,000 provides WISD's first-year teachers with $100 to assist in the creation of their first classroon.
